I am Real Madrid’s coach not Hazard coach – Ancelotti
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has told journalists during his post match conference in club’s 3-1 win at Espanyol.
The La Liga champions had to fight until the end in a tough game at the RCDE Stadium.
Vinicius Junior scored the first goal for Real Madrid but the home team pegged the European champions back through Joselu.
The man of the moment Karim Benzema scored twice to hand Real Madrid a 3-1 win.
During the game, Ancelotti made a few changes in the second half, it looked like Eden Hazard would be one of the changes but he wasn’t one of the four Substitutions made.
Rodrygo came in for Valverde, and Camavinga for Modric in the 58th minute – Ceballos in for Kross in the 80th minute and Carvajal for Vasquez in the 85rh minute.
And Ancelotti made it known during his post match that he is the coach of the team not individuals.
“Hazard was an option, but I didn’t want to unbalance the team with Vini, Rodrygo and Karim.
“With another striker we could have more risk. With Hazard I have total confidence, it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t get in a game.”
“I’m not Hazard’s coach, I’m not Benzema’s coach, I’m not Valverde’s coach….I am Real Madrid’s coach.”
From the look of things Eden Hazard is Real Madrid’s 5th options in the attack after; Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, and Rodrygo.
Federico Valverde is a midfielder but he’s been playing in the front three and looks like Carlo Ancelotti trusts him in the position more than any other player because of the balance he gives the team.
