‘ I divorced Kaka because he was too perfect for me ‘ – Brazillian football icons Ex-wife reveals
Caroline Celico, the former wife of football icon Kaka, has disclosed the reasons behind their split in 2015, attributing it to Kaka’s perceived perfection.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2005 after a long-standing relationship, parted ways after nearly a decade of marriage, despite having two children together.
Celico’s recent revelation sheds light on her perspective on their relationship and her subsequent journey toward finding happiness.
Caroline Celico, once married to Brazilian football sensation Kaka, recently unveiled the underlying cause of their divorce in 2015.
Despite a decade-long marriage and the joys of parenthood, Celico confessed that she felt something was amiss in their relationship.
The revelation came during an intimate discussion where Celico expressed her sentiments, stating that while Kaka treated her well and provided a loving family environment, his seemingly flawless nature left her feeling unfulfilled.
“We had a wonderful family, and Kaka was a devoted husband and father,” Celico recounted. “However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. The problem, I realized, was that he was too perfect for me.”
The former couple’s journey began in 2005 when they exchanged vows after years of companionship. Despite their genuine affection and shared experiences, their marriage ultimately succumbed to Celico’s internal dissatisfaction.
Following their split, Celico embarked on a journey of self-discovery, seeking solace and purpose beyond her marriage to the renowned footballer.
Post-divorce, Celico immersed herself in philanthropic endeavors, founding the charity “Horizontal Love” to support various social causes in Brazil.
Additionally, she pursued personal growth and fulfillment, eventually finding love again and marrying Eduardo Scarpa JuliĂŁo in 2021. The couple is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child, marking a new chapter in Celico’s life.
While Celico sought happiness in her post-divorce life, Kaka also found love anew. His relationship with Carolina Dias, which commenced in 2017, blossomed into an engagement earlier this year.
The former Ballon d’Or winner expressed his elation on social media, sharing his joy at the prospect of building a future with Dias and their one-year-old daughter, Sarah.
Kaka’s illustrious football career, marked by numerous accolades including the FIFA World Cup triumph with Brazil in 2002, remains a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. Despite the end of his marriage to Celico, Kaka continues to forge ahead, embracing new beginnings both on and off the field.
