‘I want to take Nigeria back to the top’ – Oliseh
Sunday Oliseh is now desperate to take Super Eagles’ job and vouch to take Nigeria back to the top if given the opportunity again.
The former Ajax midfielder was given the Super Eagles job by former NFF chief, Amaju Pinnick on the platter of gold back but he left the role eight months into the job.
Sunday Oliseh left the role, leaving Nigeria stranded when they had double-header ties against Egypt for a place in the 2015 AFCON.
Nigeria missed out on the AFCON that year, and Oliseh repeatedly rejected every link to the Super Eagles job saying he wasn’t interested.
But during an interview with Channels TV on Monday, Sunday Oliseh said he would be willing to take the job if certain conditions are met.
“My priority is to get Nigeria back to the top,” Oliseh told Channels TV in an interview on Monday.
“I will do it (handle the Super Eagles) if the person employing has the interest of Nigeria at heart.”
Since leaving the Super Eagles job, Sunday Oliseh has not had huge success leaving jobs after issues with his employers and poor results.
He left the Dutch club, Fortuna Sittard after bad blood with his employers, and after waiting for months, he got a job at Germain 4th tier club SV 19 Straelen
Oliseh also left the job after a terrible run of form that saw the team lose five straight games in the league.
