ICC Women’s World T20: South Africa lose 28-9 in Windies defeat
South Africa incredibly lost 28-9 on their way to a defeat against West Indies in the Women’s World T20 on Wednesday.
Chasing 108 for victory in Group A, South Africa appeared on track at 48-1 just over halfway through their innings.
However, they were stunningly bowled out for 76 as the Windies defended their 107-7 to claim their second win from as many games.
Stafanie Taylor – who led West Indies to the 2016 title – was the hero, taking 4-12, as only Marizanne Kapp (26) and Lizelle Lee (24) were able to reach double figures for South Africa.
With a brilliant 4/12 off just 3.4 ovs, @stafanie07 earns the Player of the Match for her stellar bowling performance tonight! She’s all smiles as she’s presented with the award by Cricket West Indies President, Whycliffe Dave Cameron @davec51. Well done, Staf! pic.twitter.com/drrikz6J19
