Ideye goal not enough as bottom-placed Malaga loss to Valencia at La Rosaleda

Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has scored his first goal for bottom place Malaga in his third game however in a 2-1 home loss.

The former WestBrom striker who is loan at the La Liga club from Tianjin TEDA scored his first goal for the White and Sky Blue at La Rosaleda Stadium on Saturday.

Brown Ideye put his side in front in the 27th minute to the delight of the home fans, Jose Recio clever play created the goal.

Th1e goal scored by Brown Ideye who started on he right hand side of the 2 strikers played in 4-4-2 system by Jose Gonzalez was the difference at half time.

The visitors who are fighting for a Champions League place came out firing from all cylinders in the second half, they pressing game was rewarded in the 80th minute when former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin equalized.

Five minute after the equaliser the visitors scored the winner from the spot. Former Real Madrid midfielder Daniel Parejo converted the sppt kick awardes following a reckless tackle from Ignasi Miquel on Rodrigo Moreno.

Valencia completed the turnaround in 85th minute when Daniel Parejo converted from the penalty spot, a minute after Malaga defender Ignasi Miquel had been sent off following a bad foul on Rodrigo Moreno in the box.

Isaac Success was not listed for the game.

Bottom placed Malaga further risk their chances of escaping relegation following Saturday home loss. They will travel to face Athletic Bilbao in their next league fixture on Sunday, February 25th.
