Ideye Scores as Enyimba Defeat Black Bulls to Get First Win in CAFCC

Enyimba finally earned their first win in the CAF Confederation Cup by beating Black Bulls 4-1 on Sunday. Joseph Atule scored twice, while Ifeanyi Ihemekwele and Brown Ideye also found the net for the Nigerian team.

Despite the victory, Enyimba remain at the bottom of Group D, but they are only one point behind second-placed Al Masry from Egypt with two games left. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, and Enyimba hopes to be one of them.

Enyimba will play against Al Masry next Sunday in Uyo, hoping to make up for their 2-0 loss in Egypt last November.

After a series of disappointing results, including a 3-0 defeat to Black Bulls last month, Enyimba hired a new coach, Stanley Eguma, to replace Yemi Olarenwaju.

Atule scored the first and last goals of the match, and Ihemekwele gave Enyimba a 2-1 lead at halftime. Black Bulls’ only goal came from Nigerian player Ejaita Ifoni.

In other group news, Zamalek of Egypt, the current champions, are at the top of the table with 8 points after a 0-0 draw against Al Masry. Masry have 5 points, while Black Bulls and Enyimba each have 4 points.

In Group B, Stellenbosch from South Africa won 2-0 against Desportivo Lunda Sul from Angola. They are still in the race to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Simba from Tanzania won 1-0 against CS Sfaxien from Tunisia in Group A, and they are tied at the top of the group with CS Constantine of Algeria.
