Ighalo debuts as United beat Chelsea continue recent dominance
Odion Ighalo became the first ever Nigerian to play for the Red Devils as Manchester United beat Chelsea to continue their recent dominance against the London club.
Goals from Anthony Martial and captain Harry Maguire sealed a 2-0 away win for Ole Solskjaer side to increase their win total to three against Frank Lampard’s side.
After the opening day 4-0 win, United defeated Chelsea 2-1 at the Bridge in the league cup and then completed and league double over Chelsea.
Since 19th of May 2018, Chelsea are winless against Manchester, their longest streak against the Reds having gone 12 games without defeat to United between 2012-17.
Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo who came in in the 90th minutes became the first Nigerian to play for Uniteds first team.
