Iheanacho named EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for March
Becomes fourth Nigerian to receive accolade
Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has been named as the Player of the Month of March in the English Premier League by EA Sports due to his brilliant performance for his club, Leicester City during the course of the month.
The 24 year old scored 5 goals in only 3 games for Leicester City in March, including a hattrick in their demolition of Sheffield United to win the award, beating competition from Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, West Ham United’s Jesse Lingard, Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez, Leeds United’s Illan Meslier, Manchester United’s Luke Shaw, and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard.
Iheanacho only becomes the fourth Nigerian to win the award after Jay Jay Okocha, Peter Osaze Odemwingie and Odion Ighalo.
