Iheanacho Scores 17th Goal of the Season as Bursaspor Drop Points Against Antalyaspor

Kelechi Iheanacho returned to scoring form on Friday evening as he found the net in Bursaspor’s 1-1 draw against Antalyaspor in the Turkish TFF 1. Lig.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring for Bursaspor in the 26th minute, ending his brief wait for another goal after his impressive 12-match scoring streak came to an end in the previous game against Bandırmaspor.
Iheanacho found the net after Amine Boutrah made a fine run down the left flank before delivering a well-timed pass into the penalty area. The former Leicester City forward was in the right position to tap the ball home.
The goal took Iheanacho’s tally to 17 in 14 appearances for Bursaspor this season, while his total goal contributions increased to 21, including four assists.
However, Bursaspor could not hold on to their lead as Tural Bayramov scored an own goal before half-time to give Antalyaspor an equaliser.
Neither side managed to score again after the break, as the match ended 1-1.
Despite dropping two points, Bursaspor remain top of the league table with 32 points, although their position could change depending on the outcome of Kayserispor’s match on Saturday.
Iheanacho’s return to the scoresheet will be a welcome boost for Bursaspor as they continue their push for promotion.
