Iheanacho scores as Foxes inflict damage on the Seagulls

Nigerian striker, Kelechi Iheanacho scored his second goal in as many games as Leicester City came back from a goal behind to defeat Brighton and Hove Albion for their first win in 4 matches.

Brighton took a first half lead through former Liverpool midfielder, Adam Lallana in the 10th minute following a well-worked move after they won the ball back in Leicester’s half of the pitch. Like against Burnley, it was Iheanacho who once again drew Leicester level in the 62nd minute as he scored an exquisite dink following a beautiful disguised pass by Youri Tielemans. The Foxes left it late as Ghanaian utility player, Daniel Amartey completed the turnaround with a header from a Marc Albrighton corner in the 87th minute. The win ensures that Leicester remain in 3rd, firmly in the race to qualify for Champions League football next season.

Iheanacho has now scored 4 goals in his last 6 matches for Leicester and seems to be hitting form just at the right time with Nigeria’s Super Eagles set to face two crunch ties against Benin Republic and Lesotho in March.
