Iheanacho scores late winner as Celtic close gap in title race

Celtic FC kept their Scottish Premiership title hopes alive after Kelechi Iheanacho scored a dramatic late winner in a 2-1 victory over Dundee FC on Sunday.
Celtic took an early lead through Yang Hyun-Jun, who turned in a close-range effort inside eight minutes. The visitors created several chances to extend their lead before half-time, but poor finishing kept Dundee in the game.
The missed chances proved costly after the break when Dundee were awarded a penalty. After a VAR review by Matthew MacDermid, referee Steven McLean pointed to the spot for handball, and captain Simon Murray calmly converted to make it 1-1.
Celtic pushed to regain control but struggled to find a breakthrough. However, the game changed late on when substitute Iheanacho made the difference.
The Nigerian forward fired a powerful left-footed shot past goalkeeper Jon McCracken in the closing moments to secure all three points for Celtic.
Dundee’s problems worsened soon after, as Ryan Astley was sent off for a foul on Yang.
The win moves Celtic to within three points of leaders Heart of Midlothian FC, who had earlier dropped points in a draw with Livingston FC. Celtic are also just two points behind second-placed Rangers FC.
Despite not being at their best, Celtic found a way to win, with Iheanacho’s late strike proving decisive.
