Iheanacho shows worth as Leicester City pummel Aston Villa

Senior man contributes to three goals in important Foxes win

Kelechi Iheanacho scored one and made two for Leicester City as they claimed a comprehensive 4-2 win over Aston Villa in their Premier League clash at Villa Park. The Super Eagles ace was key as the Foxes picked up an important three points away from home.

Aston Villa needed only nine minutes to open the scoring through striker Ollie Watkins who reacted quickest to poke home from close range after an effort from Emiliano Buendia came back off the crossbar.

The Foxes needed only three minutes to equalise after forcing an error from Aston Villa when Boubacar Kamara lost the ball in his box. Iheanacho laid the ball on a plate for James Maddison to rifle home his first goal since October.

The home side retook the lead after 32 minutes as debutant Harry Souttar scored an own goal for Leicester following a drilled ball from Watkins.

Leicester found an equaliser after only nine minutes through Iheanacho, who was found with a brilliant cross from Harvey Barnes, allowing him to head the ball past Emiliano Martinez. The forward scored for the second game running, having also scored in the FA Cup against Walsall.

With halftime approaching, the Foxes found the lead for the first time in the game through another debutant Tete. The Brazilian winger received a pass from Iheanacho before dribbling past Martinez and firing into the unguarded net in first half added time.

With the game coming to an end in the second half, Leicester City rounded off the scoring as Barnes threaded a ball through to Dennis Praet, who dribbled past the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the net.
