Ikorodu City Director reveals plan for debut NPFL season

Ikorodu City Football Club Director Tobi Adepoju has explained why the newly promoted team has not yet registered players for the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Adepoju stated that the league body has not started the registration process for players for the upcoming season. He assured fans that the club will soon announce the players who will compete in the league after gaining promotion from the lower division.

“The NPFL transfer window is not open yet for registration of players; I think this will happen this week. We have not registered any players at Ikorodu City. We have our style and what we want to do,” Adepoju said.

“At the right time, we will do what we should do and communicate our season squad to the fans and media. We do this always in the NNL.”

Established in 2022, Ikorodu City FC played three seasons in the Nigeria National League (NNL) before earning promotion to the NPFL.

Meanwhile, Tobi Adepoju was spotted in Uyo last weekend alongisde other top NPFL Club administrators, scouting for players ahead of the new season.
