IMC meets NTA to discuss broadcast of live NPFL matches
As part of efforts towards repackaging, rebranding and restructuring of the Nigeria Professional Football League – NPFL, the Interim Management Committee – IMC has met with the management of Nigeria Television Authority – NTA to discuss terrestrial broadcast rights.
WHEN DID THE MEETING HAPPEN
The recently inaugurated Interim Management Committee of the NPFL met with NTA Officials on Tuesday November 1, 2022 at the NTA Office in Abuja.
Gbenga Elegbeleye led his IMC team to the meeting while the NTA delegation was marshaled by its Director-General Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos.
WHAT WAS DISCUSSED
The IMC and NTA meeting looked at terms for a partnership to enable live broadcasting of NPFL matches to Nigerians.
It was their first meeting so no decision was reached with both parties agreeing to another meeting where discussions will be finalized and a deal struck.
IS IMC TARGETING ONLY THE NTA
No, the Interim Management Committee SportsRation understands is also engaging renowned brand Multichoice to get Super Sports broadcast the league to the international audience.
WHEN WILL THE 2022/2023 NPFL SEASON KICKOFF
Like IMC Vice Chairman Elder Paul Bassey revealed last week, the league body is concerned with correcting the grey areas to ensure a smooth organization of the league.
While that lasts, there is no tentative date for the kickoff of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
The IMC is however working closely with the clubs to ensure that players registration on the TMS is done.
