In-form Nigerian forward Akor Adams reveals how he intends to break into Super Eagles AFCON plans
In-form Nigerian forward, Jerome Akor Adams has revealed how he intends to break into the Super Eagles plans for the 2023 AFCON.
Akor who plays for French Ligue One side Montpellier admits he is playing catch-up with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Terem Moffi, Kelechi Iheanacho and others who have already represented the Super Eagles.
As first reported by Scored Nigeria, Akor has a formula to make Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro look in his direction with two months to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
” The target is simple – scored more goals with my club before the end of the year that it will be impossible for the Super Eagles to continue to overlook me going into the AFCON, ” Akor said.
” I know I am playing catch-up to get on the Super Eagles squad but I will still back myself to do just that. ”
Akor has been brilliant in the French Ligue One this season following his switch from the Norwegian topflight in the summer.
Like other Nigerian players, Akor will hope to make the countries team for the 2023 AFCON where Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau await the Eagles in group A.
So far, Jerome Akor Adams has netted five goals for Montpellier and will have to score more frequently to break into a blessed Super Eagles attack.
