Injured Nigerian defender ruled out for six-months
Injured Nigerian defender Kingsley Ehizibue has been ruled out for six-months with a knee Injury.
According to Tutto Udinese, the Udinese right-back has successfully undergone surgery for the ligament reconstruction of his right knee and has begun a six-month long rehabilitation program.
Ehizibue started his rehab at Top Physio Balduina gym in Villa Stuart but his return to Udine means his recovery will continue at the Bruseschi sports centre.
Born on May 25, 1995, Kingsley Ehizibue (27) excelled in the colours of Italian Serie A club Udinese, making 28-appearances and scoring two goals from the right back position before his Injury.
He will now miss the rest of the 2022/2023 season, the early weeks of the 2023/2024 season plus a chance to get another invitation to the Nigeria Super Eagles team.
The right-back has repeatedly confessed he wants to represent Nigeria at full international level despite being eligible to represent Germany and Netherlands.
In 2020, Ehizibue was invited by then Nigeria Super Eagles team Coach Genot Rohr but the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic ensured he could not get his debut.
His performances in the 2022/2023 season did put him in good stead to attract the attention of the Jose Peseiro led Super Eagles Coaching Crew but the Injured Nigerian defender will have to wait further for his next call-up.
