‘Is it true that Kelechi Iheanacho has been disrespected at Sevilla’ – Manager clears the air claims

Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has responded to claims that the club has disrespected forward Kelechi Iheanacho.

In an interview earlier this week, former Nigeria international Finidi suggested that Sevilla had not treated Iheanacho with the respect he deserves. Iheanacho joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer after leaving Premier League side Leicester City.

However, the 28-year-old has struggled to find regular playing time at the Spanish club, failing to score in his nine league appearances for Sevilla.

Pimienta, speaking to Marca, said: “We have not disrespected Iheanacho at any time. He has played less than I expected. He is an established international player, but Isaac has played more.”

He continued, “It’s possible that Iheanacho has options in European football, but he hasn’t played, just like other teammates. No one has been disrespected. I think he will have offers and will make his own decision. If he stays, there will be no problem.”
