Israel Adesanya reveals mistake he made during fight with Dricus Du Plessis
Nigerian-born UFC fighter known as the “Stylebender,” Israel Adesanya recently reflected on his loss to South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305. Adesanya admitted that he made a critical mistake during the fourth round of the fight, which ultimately led to his defeat by submission.
During the match, Adesanya believed he had Du Plessis on the ropes after landing a series of successful strikes. He thought Du Plessis was down and nearly finished, especially after a powerful sprawl that sent Du Plessis face-first into the mat. However, Du Plessis, known for his resilience and toughness, managed to recover quickly and counter Adesanya’s efforts, eventually securing the submission victory.
Adesanya acknowledged that he underestimated Du Plessis’s ability to bounce back, which cost him the fight. In a video on his Freestylebender YouTube channel, Adesanya said, “He’s tough, he’s stubborn… I felt like he was done, so I tried to go for him,” but Du Plessis proved to be more resilient than expected.
This loss marks a challenging period for Adesanya, who has now lost three of his last four fights. Despite the setback, Adesanya remains a significant figure in the UFC, and fans are eager to see how he will respond to this latest defeat.
