Israel Adesanya training with Mark Zuckerberg ahead of Du Plessis fight
UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has released footage from his camp of sparring sessions with billionaire Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg as he prepares to fight South African UFC star Dricus Du Plessis for the Middleweight championship.
Adesanya was confirmed for the fight against Du Plessis after the South African defeated Robert Whittaker by second round TKO at UFC 290 to become the number one contender for the Nigerian’s belt. The match was announced on stage by UFC president Dana White, and the Last Stylebender accepted the challenge of his fellow African.
The Nigerian star has been training with Zuckerberg, who is a keen mixed martial artist himself. There has been talk of a MMA fight between himself and South African billionaire Elon Musk, but the possibility is not feasible at present.
Zuckerberg has trained with Australian UFC star Alexander Volkanovski by Virtual Reality in the past, and is likely training with these professional fighters because of his love of the sport.
Israel Adesanya, on the other hand, will fight Du Plessis at UFC 293 on September 10th in Australia. He regained his belt after a victory over Alex Pereira in April at UFC 287, and will be keen to defend his title against Du Plessis.
