“It was not an easy Decision” — Ramsey announces Retirement

Aaron Ramsey has announced his retirement from football at the age of 35.

In a statement, Ramsey reflected on his journey and thanked those who were part of it:

“This has not been an easy decision to make. After a lot of consideration, I have decided to retire from football.”

He paid tribute to his country and supporters:

“Firstly, I want to start with Wales. It has been my privilege to wear the Welsh shirt and experience so many incredible moments in it… To the Red Wall… you have been an essential and indispensable part of our success.”

Ramsey also thanked the clubs he represented and his family:

“Secondly, thank you to all the clubs I’ve been lucky enough to play for… And a huge thank you to my wife and children and all my family.”

Ramsey began his career at Cardiff City before making his name at Arsenal, where he made 369 appearances and scored 64 goals.

He won multiple FA Cups with Arsenal, scoring in three finals, and played a key role in Wales’ run to the Euro 2016 semifinals, earning 86 caps and scoring 21 goals.
