ITTF World Cup: Aruna Quadri through to the Round of 16

Africa’s representatives at the ongoing International table tennis federation, ITTF World cup Aruna Quadri and Omar Assar are through to the round of sixteen of the tournament.

Despite losing to Korea’s Lee Sangsu and Russia’s Alexander Shabaev, Quadri and Assar defeated American Kanak Jha and Belgium’s Cedric Nuytinck to finish second in Group A and C.

They will on Saturday continue their quest for glory in the knockout stage against the top seeded players with 16 players aiming for places in the quarter final round of the prestigious tournament.
