Iwobi stars as Everton spank Brighton 1-5 to boost survival hopes

Nigerian Midfielder Alex Iwobi stared with one assist as Everton spanked Brighton 1-5 at the Amex Stadium to boost their hopes of survival.

Iwobi was on for the entire game and provided assist for Dwight McNeil to score the Toffees fourth goal of the game on Monday evening.

A blistering first half performance saw the visitors lead 0-3 at the expiration of the first 45-minutes.

Abdoulaye Dacoure, McNeil and Jason Steele scored the goals for Everton to lay foundation for a rare big-win for Everton in the English Premier League.

McNeil bagged a second half brace, either side of Mac Allisters goal for Brighton and Hove Albion.

27-year old Iwobi was his enterprising self as he troubled the hosts with his crisp movement and defence splitting passes.

The win takes Everton out of the drop-zone to 17th place, two-points above 18/19th placed Leicester City and Leeds United.
