Jabari Smith Jr. Hits Season-High Six Three-Pointers as Rockets Dominate Thunder

Jabari Smith Jr. put on a shooting clinic as the Houston Rockets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-98, handing the defending Western Conference contenders another difficult night.

Smith finished with 30 points, nine rebounds and five assists, knocking down six three-pointers to lead Houston’s impressive offensive display. His shooting from beyond the arc proved particularly damaging for Oklahoma City, which struggled to keep the Rockets under control.

Marcus Smart also had a big night, contributing 24 points, five rebounds and seven three-pointers. Alperen Sengun added 16 points and nine rebounds as Houston found scoring contributions from several players.

The result takes the Rockets to 6-1, an impressive record that reflects just how well they have started the new season. Their performance against Oklahoma City was another indication of the offensive quality and depth available to the team.

Smith, in particular, will be pleased with his display. Scoring 30 points while hitting six shots from three-point range is a strong statement, especially against an opponent of Oklahoma City’s quality.

The Thunder finished with 98 points and fell to 4-2 following the defeat. They will need to respond quickly, although Houston deserves credit for the way it controlled the contest.

With a 6-1 record, the Rockets are giving their supporters plenty of reasons to be optimistic about what this season could bring.
