After scoring his first English Premier league hat-trick to help Chelsea defeat Tottenham Hotspurs 1-4, Nicholas Jackson says the Blues are slowly hitting peak form.
Chelsea defeated 9-man Spurs in London to secure their biggest win in recent times amidst a poor run of form.
For Jackson who joined Chelsea FC from Villareal in the summer, it is an amazing feeling scoring his first hat-trick for a club he describes as the ‘ biggest club in England ‘ .
“I am very happy and it has been a difficult time for everybody in the team, ” Jackson told the post-match interview.
” We are coming back really slowly and happy to have scored three goals.
“[My start at Chelsea] has been very difficult, but life is like this. It’s my first hat-trick, so I am happy to have done it with the biggest club in England and everywhere.
“I need to always improve and work harder,” Jackson added. “We continue working. Tottenham have an amazing stadium and amazing fans, so we needed to fight and win the game.
“It was really difficult (when Tottenham went down to nine men) as they continued to maintain their line. We have quality players to give us the ball and we won.
” We were dreaming about winning the big games and the confidence within the team is coming really slowly.”
Mauricio Pochettino tutored Chelsea will hope to build on the win against Spurs when they travel to the Etihad to face reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday.
A positive result vs Pep Guariola’s men who will face Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League in midweek will be a significant boost and signal of a new lease of life for Chelsea FC.
