Jalen Johnson records Triple Doubles for the Hawks
Jalen Johnson continues to take major steps forward in his development, becoming just the second player in Atlanta Hawks history to record back to back triple doubles. The only other Hawk to ever do it was Bob Sura, who pulled it off in April of 2004. Now, more than 20 years later, Johnson has added his name to that short list.
In his most recent performance, Johnson finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and enough assists to complete another triple-double, showcasing the all around game that has made him one of Atlanta’s most promising young players. His ability to impact the game in multiple areas has been one of the bright spots of the Hawks’ season.
For Johnson, this stretch highlights the strides he’s making as a playmaker and primary option. For the Hawks, it’s a sign that they may have a rising star ready to take on a bigger role. Matching a franchise feat that hasn’t been seen since 2004 is no small accomplishment, and Johnson’s recent play suggests there could be even more to come.
