Jannik Sinner Australian open outfit draws mixed reaction
Jannik Sinner has been winning comfortably at the Australian Open, but it is his outfit that has been the major topic of discussion online.
Sinner returned to Rod Laver Arena wearing two different Nike kits in Melbourne. For night matches, he wears an olive green set. During daytime sessions, he appears in a bright yellow version.
Some fans love the look, while others have criticized it. Even media outlets and social media accounts are not left out. Asked about the kit, Sinner said he was comfortable wearing it.
“Next year I have a little bit more of a say in the colors,” he said. “But I’m very, very happy to wear this outfit.”
Away from competition, Sinner has said his personal style is simple. The Italian, who works with Gucci, prefers basic colors when not on court.
“In my wardrobe, there are a lot of very simple t-shirts,” he said. “White or black, usually, because I travel around a lot.”
On court, Sinner has yet to drop a set. Hugo Gaston retired from their match, and Sinner then beat James Duckworth in straight sets. He will next play Eliot Spizzirri in the third round.
