Jose Mourinho felt gameplan was “betrayed”
Jose Mourinho has said that he feels “betrayed” by some of his players for their performance during tonight’s 2-1 loss at Leicester City.
Goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez condemned the Blues to their ninth league defeat of the season, leaving them in 16th place in the Premier League table and just one point above the relegation zone.
“[Leicester’s] two goals are a very big frustration to accept because it’s like I feel that my work was betrayed,” Mourinho told Sky Sports News afterwards. “It’s difficult for us to score goals when you have some players that are not at the best level. It’s obvious and everybody knows that.
“All last season I did phenomenal work and brought them to a level that is not their level, it’s more than they really are.
“Day by day in training, I have no complaints with the players. If I look to some matches, I feel frustrated with the difference between what they do in training and what they do in matches.”
The champions welcome fellow strugglers Sunderland to Stamford Bridge in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday.
