Jose Mourinho In serious trouble as Galatasaray accuse him of Racist remarks after Istanbul Derby
The aftermath of the heated Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce has taken a serious turn, with Galatasaray accusing Fenerbahce’s manager, Jose Mourinho, of making racist comments.
The Turkish champions have announced their intention to file formal complaints with UEFA and FIFA, claiming Mourinho’s remarks were out of line.
In an official statement, Galatasaray expressed their anger over the Portuguese manager’s post-match comments, saying, “Since arriving in Turkey, Fenerbahce’s head coach Jose Mourinho has consistently made disrespectful remarks about Turkish people. Today, his comments crossed a line into inhumane territory. We will file a criminal complaint against Mourinho and submit formal complaints to UEFA and FIFA.”
The controversy started after Mourinho claimed during his post-match press conference that the Galatasaray bench had been pressuring the referee to show a card to Fenerbahce defender Yusuf Akcicek early in the match. The Portuguese manager then added, “I have to thank the referee because, in that situation, everyone on the other bench was jumping like monkeys.”
These comments have caused outrage at Galatasaray, who have labelled them racist and unacceptable. The Turkish club is now calling for strong action from football’s governing bodies.
Okan Buruk Responds to Mourinho
Galatasaray’s manager, Okan Buruk, also reacted strongly to Mourinho’s remarks, mocking the Fenerbahce boss in his own press conference. Buruk said, “The Crying One’s speech was a bit long. You know, he’s famous for crying. He cried for a long time here. He cried inside, went to the referee’s room, and cried there, too. Let him keep crying.”
The goalless draw at Rams Park saw Galatasaray maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig, while Fenerbahce now face an uphill battle in the title race.
However, the match result has been overshadowed by the controversy surrounding Mourinho’s comments, which have added to the growing tension between the two clubs.
