Jose Mourinho Picks His Favourites for 2025 Ballon d’Or
Former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has named who he thinks should win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Mourinho believes the award should go to Portuguese players Vitinha or Nuno Mendes, who both play for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
He prefers them over Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele, who also plays for PSG.
Speaking to Canal11, Mourinho joked that his agent, Jorge Mendes, might not be happy with his choice. “I think individual awards should always be linked to team success,” he said, according to SPORTbible.
“I love both Vitinha and Mendes. It’s hard to choose between them. There aren’t many midfielders and full-backs like them around anymore,” Mourinho added.
“I’d love one of them to win, of course. But Jorge Mendes will be upset with me because he thinks Yamal, who is his player, should win.”
Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele are among the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Dembele, Vitinha, and Mendes all played key roles in PSG’s incredible season, helping them win a domestic treble and the UEFA Champions League. They also reached the FIFA Club World Cup final but were beaten heavily by Chelsea.
