Jose Mourinho Praises Nigerian Striker David Okereke for Record Feat
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has praised Nigerian striker David Okereke after his impressive performance in a Turkish Super Lig match last weekend.
Despite Fenerbahce’s 3-1 victory over Gaziantep, Okereke made headlines by scoring his team’s only goal. This goal marked the third time the 27-year-old has found the net against a team coached by Mourinho.
Speaking after the match, Mourinho said:
“I congratulate David Okereke. He is the first player to score against all three teams I have managed.”
Mourinho highlighted Okereke’s consistency, noting that he scored against his teams while playing for Venezia, Cremonese, and now Gaziantep.
Okereke’s goal just before halftime brought his tally to three goals in eight matches this season. However, Fenerbahce secured the win with goals from Rodrigo Becao and Edin Dzeko.
The Nigerian striker, who is on loan from Cremonese, continues to impress in the Turkish Super Lig, adding another memorable moment to his career.
