‘Jurgen Klopp makes players feel special’ – Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard has sung the praises of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp by claiming that he makes his players “feel special”.
Klopp, who replaced Brendan Rodgers last month, has been warmly welcomed by the Liverpool fans after guiding the team to five wins, recording three draws and suffering just one defeat.
Gerrard, who ended his 17-year career at Anfield in the summer to join MLS club Los Angeles Galaxy, will begin training with the Reds next week, but has already met up with Klopp. “He makes you feel good,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“He’s got that enthusiasm, very infectious and he makes players feel special. “I’m an ex-player and I came out of his office feeling really good and really confident.
That’s what he brings, he’s lifted the whole club, the fans, the supporters, the staff and he’s got Liverpool playing really well.” Liverpool secured their place in the round of 32 in the Europa League with a 2-1 win over Bordeaux on Thursday night at Anfield.
