Kai Havertz’s goal helps Arsenal secure hard-fought win over Ipswich
Arsenal earned a crucial 1-0 victory against Ipswich Town in the Premier League, thanks to a decisive goal from German star Kai Havertz. The win brings the Gunners within six points of league leaders Liverpool.
On the fifth anniversary of Mikel Arteta’s first match as Arsenal manager, Havertz scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute. Despite dominating the first half, Arsenal couldn’t add to their tally. Ipswich, limited to just 83 passes in the opening half, failed to register a single shot on target.
Ipswich improved after the break, creating more pressure on Arsenal. However, the Gunners nearly doubled their lead when Gabriel Magalhães’ close-range header narrowly missed the target.
Although Arsenal couldn’t extend their lead, Havertz’s goal was enough to secure all three points. The result moves the Gunners above Nottingham Forest and Chelsea into second place in the Premier League standings.
Arsenal’s determined performance keeps them in the race for the title as they edge closer to Liverpool at the top.
