Kano Pillars part ways with Coach Paul Offor just 19 days after appointment

Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars have parted ways with Paul Offor, who was appointed as the team’s coach only 19 days ago.

The decision to terminate Offor’s contract was reached by mutual consent and reflects the club’s commitment to strategic adjustments as they prepare for the 2024/25 season.

In a letter published online, the Chairman Alhaji Muhammad Umar thanked Offor for his contributions during his brief tenure.

A statement from the club reads: “Kano Pillars Football Club announces the mutual termination of the contract with its Technical Adviser, Paul Offor. The decision was made in good faith and with mutual consent, underscoring a shared understanding between both parties.”

“As Kano Pillars FC looks forward, the club is set to appoint a new Technical Adviser to steer the team in the upcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.” Says the statement.

Offor, previously the head coach of Sporting Lagos, was brought on board under the previous administration.

This sudden move comes as a surprise to many, and his appointment is believed to be a major reason for the recent change in management and restructuring of the team.

SportsRation understands that the Kano State Commisioner for Sports was not in agreement for the appointment of Coach Offor and so moved quickly to sack the old board, hours after his appointment. Coach Usman Abdallah is favoured to take charge as the teams new head coach.
