Kanu close to money-spinning move
Super Falcons of Nigeria forward Uchenna Kanu is subject of a money-spinning move to USA NWSL club Racing Louisville.
According to Jeff Kassouf, United States of America (USA) National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Racing Louisville is ready with a two-year deal for the Falcon.
The deal for Kanu SportsRation understands is worth $150,000 plus other mouthwatering incentives as they attempt to convince her current club UANL Tigres to part with the forward.
With negotiations at advanced stage, the transfer of Uchenna Kanu will represent a major economic boost for Mexico Liga MX Femenil side UANL Tigres.
That will make up for the on-field effects of losing the prolific Kanu. The 25-year old a huge part of the Tigres squad having scored 10 league goals in 19 games this season.
If she joins Racing, Kanu will link up with South African forward Thembi Kgatlana.
The pending transfer adds further gloss to Kanu’s 2023 with the striker heading to the World Cup later this year with Nigeria.
Kanu was named among Falcons to participate in the Revelation Cup Tournament in Leon, Mexico this month.
Randy Waldrum tutored ladies will use the tournament as part of preparations for this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
