Kanu Nwankwo Challenges Enyimba to Win the League or Finish in the Top Three
Former Super Eagles player and current Enyimba FC chairman, Kanu Nwankwo, has set big goals for the team in the 2024/25 season. He has challenged them to either win the league title or finish in the top three to qualify for continental competitions.
Enyimba, currently in ninth place in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has struggled since their previous coach, Finidi George, led them to a league title before leaving.
According to team manager Prince Nwabeke, Kanu has made his expectations clear: “It’s either you win the league title or secure a continental spot—nothing less.” The team is now focused on winning their remaining three matches to collect all nine points.
This push for success comes as former West Bromwich Albion striker Brown Ideye returns to Enyimba on a short-term deal, marking his return to the NPFL after 18 years.
Enyimba recently won 4-1 against Mozambique’s Black Bulls in the CAF Confederation Cup and will look to continue this form as they aim for their first NPFL title since 2018.
