Kelechi Nwakali faces Huesca axe over continuous indiscipline
Kelechi Nwakali is set to face serious sanctions when he returns to his Spanish club Huesca.
The former Arsenal midfielder who was with the Super Eagles in Cameroon is yet to return to his Spanish club according to reports in Spain.
Kelechi Nwakali is said to be a perpetual offender and his club Huesca are reportedly tired of his antics, hence, the reason they tried moving him on to Burgos on the transfer deadline day.
The deal never worked out and Huesca also blamed the failure on Kelechi Nwakali.
As at the time of the publication by AS, it was nine days since Nigeria’s elimination, other players have returned to their clubs except for Kelechi Nwakali.
According to the publication, Kelechi Nwakali will be fined but it is unknown if he will be allowed to play for the club again.
Kelechi Nwakali was repeatedly offered a contract extension by Huesca but he refused to commit to the club on a new deal.
“The Huesca footballer is nine days late and is the only Nigerian player who has not returned to his team,” the website wrote.
“Kelechi Nwakali rejected the contract extension proposals offered by Huesca.
“They are tired of his indiscipline, and tried to transfer him to Burgos without success as the documentation could not be completed due to the player’s fault and a disciplinary fine awaits him.”
Kelechi Nwakali was enjoying playing time a few weeks before his departure for AFCON 2021 but with reports from Spain, his future with Huesca might be at great risk.
