Kennedy Boboye Arrives in Benin, Tours Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Ahead of Bendel Insurance Unveiling

Newly appointed Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance FC, Coach Kennedy Boboye, has arrived in Benin City ahead of his official unveiling and the start of his new role with the club.
On his arrival, Boboye was warmly received by the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, alongside top officials of the Commission and the club’s General Manager, Charles Ihimekpen.
The former Plateau United and Akwa United boss was immediately taken on a tour of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Monday, where he inspected key facilities such as the main bowl, training pitches, dressing rooms, media centre, gym, and recovery centre.
The tour signalled the beginning of a new chapter for the experienced tactician, who has already signed a two-year contract with the Benin Arsenal. His official unveiling is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Speaking after the tour, Hon. Enabulele expressed optimism about Boboye’s appointment, describing it as a major step forward for the club.
“We welcome Coach Kennedy Boboye to Benin. The government of Edo State, under the leadership of Governor Monday Okpebholo, is fully committed to supporting the team,” Enabulele said.
In his remarks, Coach Boboye described the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium as “top-notch” and familiar, praising the state government for its huge investment in sports infrastructure.
“This is a world-class facility, and I’m impressed with what I’ve seen. I’m ready to work hard with all stakeholders to deliver results that will make Edo people proud,” he said.
Earlier on Monday, Bendel Insurance FC management officially announced Boboye’s appointment as Technical Manager, following a mutual agreement for him to take full charge of the team’s technical affairs with immediate effect.
Boboye, a two-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title-winning coach, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to help the Benin-based club compete strongly in the ongoing season.
