Kevin De Bruyne considering move to Saudi Arabia

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has hinted at a potential summer move to Saudi Arabia, creating a buzz with his recent comments.

The Belgium international, who has been a standout performer over the past five years, will turn 33 in June and is contemplating the final stages of his career.

De Bruyne Open to Saudi Move

De Bruyne, who joined Manchester City in August 2015, is regarded as one of the club’s greatest players. However, with age and career longevity in mind, he is now considering new opportunities. Speaking to Belgian newspaper HLN, De Bruyne expressed his openness to a move to Saudi Arabia, known for its lucrative offers to footballers nearing the end of their careers.

“At my age, you have to be open to everything,” De Bruyne told HLN. “You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in the last stage of my career, you have to think about that.”

Financial Considerations and Future Planning

De Bruyne emphasised the financial benefits of a potential move, highlighting the significant earnings he could accumulate in just a couple of years in Saudi Arabia. “If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that, I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet,” he explained. “For my wife, an exotic adventure is okay. I have to think about my future.”

Career Achievements and Injuries

Throughout his time at Manchester City, De Bruyne has been pivotal in the club’s success, contributing to multiple Premier League titles and domestic trophies. However, injuries have increasingly affected his playing time, prompting considerations about his career’s sustainability and financial security.

Future Uncertain

While De Bruyne acknowledges the possibility of a move, he remains undecided. “But at the moment, I haven’t had to think about that yet,” he said, leaving fans and the football community in suspense about his next steps.
