Kevin De Bruyne: Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola reveals fitness status ahead of Arsenal clash

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was forced off at half-time during the UEFA Champions League group stage game against Inter Milan, adding to Pep Guardiola’s frustration as the match ended in a goalless draw.

Kevin De Bruyne appeared to pick up a muscle injury just before the break, leading to his substitution, with Phil Foden coming on to replace him for the second half.

This injury continues a worrying trend for De Bruyne, who has struggled with recurring muscle problems in recent years. Notably, he was also subbed off during last season’s Champions League final against the same opponents, Inter Milan, and missed significant portions of the previous campaign due to similar issues.

City boss Guardiola expressed uncertainty about the extent of De Bruyne’s latest injury, stating: “I’ll have more info on his condition on Thursday.” The possibility of De Bruyne being fit for City’s upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal remains unclear, but Guardiola hinted that further updates would be available soon.

Despite De Bruyne’s withdrawal, Foden’s energetic performance in the second half provided a positive takeaway for Manchester City fans.
