Kevin Durant leads Brooklyn Nets to first win on the road
Kevin Durant delivered a timely reminder of his quality as he led the Brooklyn Nets to a 96-90 win against the Detroit Pistons in the first match of the Nets’ run of away matches in the NBA this season.
All-Star Kevin Durant finished the game with a double-double of 29 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Nets in 36 minutes of action. Fellow All-Star James Harden racked up a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Nets as they improved their record to 6-3 for the season.
For the Detroit Pistons, rookie Cade Cunningham showed that he is fully over the ankle injury that delayed his NBA debut for the franchise. The 20-year-old led the scoring for the Pistons at the Little Caesars Arena with 17 points, and he added four rebounds and two assists, earning the praise of two-time finals MVP Kevin Durant. The Pistons need to raise their game quickly or risk falling far behind after a terrible start to the season that has seen them lose eight of nine games.
The Golden State Warriors continued their brilliant start to the season with a 126-85 win over the hapless New Orleans Pelicans to improve their record to 7-1 for the season. Jordan Poole led the scoring for the Warriors with 26 points, while Steph Curry added 19 points and six assists.

New York Knicks defeated champions Milwaukee Bucks 113-98 to pile further misery on them. Julius Randle tallied 32 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for the Knicks as they won away from home at the Fiserv Forum Arena. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s haul of 25 points was insufficient to help his side avoid defeat.
Los Angeles Clippers picked up a 104-84 win away from home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Paul George and Ivica Zubac recorded double-doubles for the Clippers in the game. George finished the game with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Zubac had 14 points and 14 rebounds in the game.
