Kudos to Kudus whose brace fires Ghana past Korea in five-goal thriller

In-form Mohammed Kudus scored two goals to help Ghana beat South Korea 3-2 in a five-goal thriller in a Group H game at the Education City Stadium on Monday.

It was an efficient performance from the Black Stars of Ghana who score all of their three goals from their three shots which were on target.

Mohammed Salisu scored the first goal of the game in the 24th minute from a cross from Jordan Ayew, 10 minutes later Mohammed Kudus increased Ghana’s tally to two.

Ghana were totally in control of the game as they went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Everything changed in the second half as defensive midfielder turned striker Gue-sung Cho scored two great headers to cancel out Ghana’s lead.

Gue-sung Cho scored the first goal in the 58th minute with a powerful header, he completed his brace in the 61st minute with another header.

But Mohammed Kudus had other plans as he scored his second and Ghana’s winning goal in the 69th minute, Inaki Williams failed to connect to a pass in the box but kudos to Kudus who fired past South Korea’s goalie.

The Black Stars hung on to the 3-2 win against South Korea as they head into their last Group game against Uruguay full of confidence.

Later today, Uruguay and Portugal will go against one another.

Ghana will have a chance to take their pound pf flesh against Uruguay, and Luis Suarez who denied them a place in the semis at the 2010 World Cup.
