‘ Leaving Napoli will be a very emotional moment ‘ – Victor Osimhen

Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen, has candidly admitted that leaving the Serie A club will likely evoke strong emotions, possibly leading to tears, as he reflects on his time with the Partenopei.

The Nigerian international, who played a key role in Napoli’s Scudetto triumph last season, is widely anticipated to depart the club this summer, although his next destination remains uncertain. Osimhen’s contract, inked last December, reportedly includes a release clause of around €120 million.

Having endeared himself to Napoli’s passionate fanbase with his remarkable performances on the pitch, Osimhen has become a revered figure among the club faithful.

His remarkable tally of 26 goals in 32 league appearances played a significant role in securing Napoli’s first league title in over three decades.

Expressing his deep appreciation for the fervent support of Napoli’s fans, Osimhen emphasised the unique bond between the club and its supporters. In an interview with Betsson Sport, he remarked, “For me, it’s a fantastic feeling… in Naples, it’s the fans who make the team what it is.”

“The way they support the team and each player is truly incredible,”

“Sometimes I understand why some legends of the past cried when they left Naples, because it is an extraordinary emotion to play in the stadium and hear your name shouted from the first minute to the 90th, supporting the team and cheering,” Osimhen said.

As Osimhen contemplates his next chapter in football, his heartfelt sentiments underscore the deep connection he shares with Napoli and its fans, making his eventual departure from the club a poignant moment in his career.
