LeBron makes history in Spurs beatdown
LeBron James on Wednesday made history as the first man in NBA history to hit 10+ points per game for 1000 consecutive games. On what was his 36th birthday, LeBron led his team, the Los Angeles Lakers with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to a 121-107 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference.
Like fine wine, James seems to get better with age, and his record of 1000 consecutive scoring games has now dwarfed that of nearest competitors,MichaelĀ Jordan whose consecutive 10+ points games stands at 866, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar on 787, both of whom are long retired.
James’ current streak started on January 6th 2007 and he hasĀ gone for over 13 years without dropping less than 10 points in a game. Now in his 18th year as an NBA player, James sits in the Number 4 position among the players with the most 10+ games in NBA history on 1241 games, only behind Dirk Nowitzki, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
