Leicester City 4 Burnley 2: Brendan Rodgers lauds ‘incredible’ Wilfred Ndidi
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has praised Wilfred Ndidi for his role in Leicester City’s 4-2 win against Burnley in their second league game of the season.
The Foxes who were still without their first choice central defender Jonny Evans made use of Wilfred Ndidi for the second game running and still got the win.
Goals from Harvey Barnes, Dennis Praet, James Justin and an own goal from Erik Pieters helped Leicester City to a 4-2 win against Burnley.
But Brendan Rodgers who won his 100th Premier League game as a manager with the Burnley win singled out Wilfred Ndidi his make shift defender for praise.
“Burnley are a very difficult side to play against,” said Rodgers during his post match interview on Match of the Day.
“They went ahead but we kept attacking the game and looked very good going forward.
“We are a bit patched up at the back but Wilfred Ndidi was incredible stepping in there from midfield.”
It has been two straight games for Wilfred Ndidi as a central defender but should be back to a familiar position when Leicester City play Manchester City on Sunday.
Wilfred Ndidi could still play one more game as a central defender when Leicester City tackle Arsenal in the League cup on Wednesday but Jonny Evans who would complete his match bans by Wednesday would be available for selection on Sunday.
