Lewandowski Ruled Out Of Real Madrid Clash

Barcelona have been dealt a major injury blow after Robert Lewandowski was ruled out of the Copa Del Rey clash with Real Madrid.

The rivals will square up at the Santiago Bernabeu in the semi final of the competition on Thursday.

Lewandowski picked up a leg injury in Barcelona’s 1-0 defeat to Almeria on Sunday.

The club confirmed in a statement on Monday morning.

“Robert Lewandowski has strained the biceps femoris in his left hamstring.”

The Poland striker is also expected to miss league games against Valencia and Athletic Bilbao next month.

This is the third meeting between Barcelona and Real Madrid this season, the first encounter in the league ended 3-0 in favour of Real Madrid, while Barcelona won 3-1 in the Super Cup final.

The Blaugrana are seven points clear of Real Madrid in the La Liga title race.

Lewandowski has scored 25 goals in all competitions for Barcelona this season.
