Liverpool target Timo Werner has sent fans on social media into frenzy after scoring three goals in Leipzig’s 5-0 win against Mainz 05 in a Bundesliga game on Sunday.

Timo Werner was subject of discussion on social media for his historic display which put him on the same list presently occupied by Barcelona’s super star Lionel Messi.

Timo Werner who scored Leipzig’s first, fourth and fifth goal to complete his hat-trick for his third of the season the joint most by any player in Europe’s top five league.

The goal is Timo Werner’s 22nd of the season in 27 games, this is the best goal return having scored 21 in 31 games, 13 in 32 games and 16 in 30 games in the 2016/17, 2017-18 and 2018/19 respectively.
