LMC approves Abia Warriors stadium switch
Landlords now to play their home games at Okigwe
The League Management Company of the NPFL acceded to Abia Warriors request to move their home matches to the Okigwe Township Stadium pending the readiness of their own Umuahia Township Stadium.
The Umuahia Landlords had been using the Enyimba Stadium in Aba for their home games since the commencement of the season. They have lost all three of the fixtures they played there this season, including the derby against Enyimba on Matchday One.
Now, they have been permitted to move their games to Okigwe Township Stadium, 41 kilometres from Umuahia, starting with their Matchday Six fixture against MFM FC this weekend. Okigwe Stadium was among the first batch of stadiums approved for use in the league this season.
In other news, under-fire Abia Warriors coach, Imama Amapakabo has stated his confidence that the team will get over their poor start to the season and finish among the top two teams at the end of the season.
