Lookman and Osimhen united ahead of Algeria Match

Any talk of a rift between Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen appears to have been settled, with both players showing clear signs of unity ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Algeria.

During Nigeria’s 4–0 win over Mozambique, Lookman scored the opening goal and assisted both of Osimhen’s strikes.

Late in the match, a brief confrontation between the two near the touchline sparked online speculation, with unverified claims suggesting internal issues within the Nigeria national football team. Team officials quickly dismissed those reports.

Since then, both players have tried to clear the air. Lookman and Osimhen were seen training together with the squad ahead of the Algeria game, relaxed and smiling. Lookman later shared a photo on Instagram of himself carrying Osimhen on his back, captioned “Together always”, alongside the Nigerian flag.

After the match, Lookman addressed the incident directly.

“It’s just football. It’s always football. Victor Osimhen is my brother.”

Osimhen also played down the moment as normal in-game emotion. With both players driving Nigeria’s attack so far, the focus now shifts back to football as Nigeria prepares for its next match.
