Lookman Focused on Atalanta Amid Transfer Rumours

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has hinted that he is fully committed to Atalanta, despite ongoing talks about a possible move in January.

The Nigerian international has been linked with a switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray, who are reportedly monitoring his situation and hoping to lure him away from Bergamo. However, after his impressive performance in Atalanta’s 3–0 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt, Lookman appeared to cool down the transfer speculation.

Lookman, who is under contract with Atalanta until 2027, said the issues that occurred during the summer are now behind him. He stated that his focus is on the club’s ambitions and the project under new head coach Raffaele Palladino.

“What happened in the summer is in the past. Some know the details, others don’t. But at the moment, my attention is on Atalanta and on winning as many matches as possible,” he said.

Lookman also spoke highly of Palladino, describing the manager as attack-minded and determined. He noted that the coach’s style of play suits him well and brings out the best in the team.

“He wants open and entertaining football with freedom to attack. He is very driven, and just like us players, he aims to win every game,” Lookman added.

In the victory against Frankfurt, Lookman scored the first goal with a smart volley and later provided an assist for his teammate Éderson. His display has been praised by many Nigerian fans, who see it as a positive sign for the Super Eagles as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite previous uncertainty around his future, the winger’s recent comments and performances suggest he is settled and ready to continue giving his best for Atalanta.
