Lookman Set to Leave Atalanta This Summer – Transfer Expert Confirms
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is certain to leave Atalanta at the end of the current season, according to transfer market expert Matteo Moretto.
Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Moretto said with full confidence that the Nigerian international will depart the Serie A club, confirming: “We told you before that he would leave Atalanta with a 99% chance – now we can say that he will do it with a 100% chance!”
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has enjoyed a stellar time in Italy, becoming a key player for Atalanta since his move from RB Leipzig. Lookman has contributed 50 goals and 24 assists in 113 appearances and was named Atalanta’s Player of the Season for two consecutive years.
Several top clubs across Europe are monitoring the 26-year-old. In Serie A, Juventus and Napoli are keen, while in the Premier League, Newcastle United and West Ham have shown strong interest. Spanish giants Barcelona have also emerged as a surprise contender.
“There are many clubs in Serie A and the Premier League that want him,” Moretto added. “But be careful of some Spanish leads.”
Lookman’s expected exit is not related to his brief disagreement with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini over a missed penalty in a Champions League clash against Club Brugge. Reports suggest that a gentleman’s agreement had already been reached allowing him to leave the club this summer.
Although Lookman’s contract runs until June 2026 – with Atalanta holding the option for an additional year – it now appears the club is prepared to cash in on their star attacker as interest continues to grow.
In addition to Lookman, Moretto also hinted that Brazilian midfielder Ederson could be another big name to leave Atalanta at the end of the season.
